NXT Stand in Deliver is the biggest Premium Live Event on the yearly schedule for the NXT brand. Hosted the morning of WrestleMania Saturday, the talent of NXT get their chance to shine on the biggest stage. This weekend will make moments for certain superstars and be the renaissance for some others. Without further ado, let’s get into the picks.

Oba Femi vs Dijak vs Josh Briggs (NXT North American title)

Since beating Dragon Lee for the NA title back in January, Femi has been on a meteoric rise. After getting wins on NXT TV, both Briggs and Dijak called their shot at the NXT North American Title. Femi later deemed that both men were worthy of challenging him for his title and decided that he would face both of them at Stand and Deliver in a triple-threat match.

Femi has been red hot ever since winning the men’s breakout tournament and winning the title. This match doesn’t excite me a ton but this should be a great big-man match to get the crowd rocking. Femi also has a lot of potential so I’ll go with Femi.

Official Prediction: Oba Femi def. Dijak and Josh Briggs.

The Wolf Dogs (Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker) vs Axiom and Nathan Frazer (NXT Tag Team Title match)

Corbin and Breakker have had a weird rise to the top of the tag team division. The tag team started as a joke, but the two teamed up, stormed their way through the dusty cup, hoisted it high as winners, and took the belts from the family the very next week. Kind of a funky way to do it but fun nonetheless.

Frazer and Axiom won a tag team tournament to get into this spot. Frazer and Axiom make appearances weekly on NXT, and with Breakker already (tentatively) being called up to smackdown, I expect the two to drop the titles soon and what better place to do it than the biggest show on the NXT calendar?

Official Prediction: Axiom and Nathan Frazer def. Barron Corbin and Bron Breakker.

Thea Hail, Fallon Henley and Kelani Jordan vs Jacy Jayne, Kiana James and Izzy Dane

Wut?

This match is just weird. Ideally, I would’ve liked to see Jacy Jane and Thea Hail go one-on-one but I guess this is okay too. I really do not like the fact that this is a six-man tag match. That being said you could never go wrong with picking the babyfaces to win so I’ll go with Hail and co.

Official Prediction: Thea Hail, Fallon Henley, and Kelani Jordan def. the other team.

Lyra Valkyria vs Roxanne Perez (NXT Women’s championship)

Lyra has had a very solid run as champion. After beating Becky Lynch for the title back at Halloween Havoc 2023, she would go on to defend her title against Xia Li, Blair Davenport, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, and even Roxanne Perez herself. Her time lately has been taken up by her stalker Tatum Paxley. Paxley is doing the Mickie James/Mariah May/Single White Female deal of being obsessed with Valkyria because she saved her from a beatdown one time.

Perez has been doing some of the best work of her career. This time around, she’s frustrated that her one-on-one title match back at Vengeance Day became a triple threat with Lola Vice cashing in her Breakout Contract. After Valkyria gave Shotzi a title shot, and after Lash Legend took an open challenge when Shotzi got hurt during the match, Perez got angry again. This time, Perez turned heel and hurt Valkyria’s arm.

Valkyria has been champion for 164 Days. Perez is in a role with her character work and I think this is the perfect time to pull the trigger and give us a new NXT Women’s champion.

Official Prediction: Roxanne Perez def. Lyra Valkyria

Ilja Dragunov vs Tony D’Angelo

There’s very little to say about this match. I feel as though this match could go either way. I feel as though Dragunov is due for a call-up to the main roster any day now. He has a feud waiting for him in the Intercontinental champion Gunther for the Bash in Berlin event in August.

However, there is the factor that the WWE draft is coming up close to WWE Backlash, potentially another good time to call up Dragunov. Meaning that title retention is still in the cards. Either option, this match will be incredible. Ilja has put on incredible matches like they’re just natural to him and D’Angelo has shown great potential in his matches as tag team champion.

I do think that the next NXT champion is in the next match. So for now, Ilja will keep the title

Official prediction: Ilja Dragunov def. Tony D’Angelo.

Trick Williams vs Carmelo Hayes

The match that NXT 2.0 as a whole has been building towards, and maybe the biggest match NXT has had since the philosophy shift, will see Carmelo Hayes take on Trick Williams. The two were inseparable since the start of their time at developmental, Carmelo began his rise to the top and Trick was right there with him. Soon enough, Williams began to rise as well, and the two even (if it was only for an hour) held Singles gold together.

But Hayes got jealous once Williams started sniffing around the NXT Championship, and after a mystery attack in October, Hayes fully severed ties back in February at Vengeance Day. Williams is on the verge of being the face of NXT. That rise starts here, with a major win in a major feud on the biggest weekend of the year. Williams will Whoop That Trick and beat Hayes before eventually climbing the mountain and winning the NXT Title.

Official Prediction: Trick Williams def. Carmelo Hayes
