The Women’s side of the WWE has experienced a massive revolution (or evolution as they like to call it). They were once treated only for their looks and now they are some of the best wrestlers in the WWE as a whole. Some have even main evented WrestleMania. Today we’re taking a look at the 10 greatest WWE women’s superstars of all time.
10. Mickie James
A veteran of the wrestling industry, Mickie James has proven herself to be one of the most versatile performers in WWE history. A multiple-time women’s champion, James’ ability to adapt to any role and deliver standout performances has solidified her status as one of the greatest WWE women of all time.
9. Asuka
Asuka deserves a hell of a lot more credit for the evolution of Women’s wrestling. The longest reigning NXT women’s champion at 522 days, Triple Crown winner, Royal Rumble winner (2018), Ms. Money in the Bank (2020), and 3-time tag team champion. She has competed in some of the greatest matches in WWE history. Arguably though, Asuka cemented her name in WWE immortality early in her career through her run as NXT Women’s champion
8. Beth Phoenix
One of the strongest women in WWE history is Beth Phoenix, a Hall of Famer within the company. The Glamazon was undoubtedly at her best when she was a formidable heel and held the WWE Women’s Championship in a chokehold. Some of her best feuds were with the likes of Mickie James, Melina, and Michelle McCool over the Women’s championship. The same title that she held for most of 2008, winning it 3 times throughout her career.
7. Bayley
The tale of Bayley’s career is one of very many ups and very many downs. Nevertheless, she has continued to find success in the company ever since her call-up to the main roster from NXT back in 2016. The Role Model is a grand slam champion and her second Smackdown Women’s championship reign lasted a record 380 days. She has two tag team championship reigns with Sasha Banks, A royal rumble win (2024) to her name as well as the single’s championship reigns.
6. Sasha Banks
Like Bailey, Sasha Banks’ career has been one that fluctuates between good moments and bad moments. even so, Banks has had some history-making moments, such as main eventing night one of WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair for the SmackDown women’s championship. She is a 5 time Raw Women’s champion, a 1-time SmackDown Women’s champion, an NXT champion, and has three Tag Team Championship reigns, two with Bayley and one with Naomi. She’s a fantastic heel and a fantastic babyface as well.
5. Alexa Bliss
If I could use one word to describe Alexa Bliss, It would be a history maker. She was the first woman to win the Raw and smackdown women’s championships. The Goddess won the Raw Women’s Championship three times, and the SmackDown Women’s Championship twice. She has won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship three times, twice with Nikki Cross and once with Asuka. She has also shown a depth of character as she portrayed a demented, evil version of herself while allied with the late Bray Wyatt.
4. Lita
Arguably the greatest women’s high-flyer to ever enter a WWE ring. A risk taker, a revolutionary, and a legend, Lita is a four-time women’s champion. She retired in 2006 and she later came out of retirement, and she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Becky Lynch in February of last year cementing her legacy as one of the all-time greats.
3. Charlotte Flair
14 championship reigns. Nobody has ever even come close to tying this record. Not to mention the fact that Flair has some more time in her career to add to that tally and set a record that nobody can touch. She’s the daughter of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair and she has thrived under the pressure of being his daughter. Charlotte is quite athletic. Additionally, it is undeniable that she is a natural heel rather than playing the babyface that her admirers love to boo.
2. Trish Stratus
Trish Stratus, a WWE Hall of Famer, is a legendary figure in the wrestling industry, and she should be commended for her advancements both in the ring and on the mic. Trish wasn’t very skilled in the ring at first, but by the end of 2001, she had improved, and at Survivor Series 2001, she captured her first WWE Women’s Championship. She would go on to win that tile 6 more times, setting a record for that time. She feuded with the likes of Lita, Molly Holly, Jazz, and Victoria in the Ruthless Aggression Era over the WWE Women’s Championship
1. Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch’s meteoric rise to superstardom happened when she turned heel and assaulted Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2018. Lynch began to call herself “The Man” and she was one of the biggest stars on the roster. Lynch is a 7 time world champion, Winning the Tag Team titles to complete her triple crown status, and later winning the NXT Women’s championship, completing her grand-slam status. Her Rivalry with Flair took the Women’s evolution to a whole new level.
